Ingredients for my kick ass birthday included: Mochipop, Bread & Porridge banana pancakes, Friends, Dinner @ Phillipe's, Tony Diamonds & Hoegaarden @ Mountain Bar, Dinner #2 @ Full House and..kiddie rides in Chinatown Land. The best way to ring in the last year of my twenties and 2008 in our (soon to be) new hood.
Finally..we're headed out to the Felt Club XL Summer event tomorrow off Melrose. I've been wanting to check out one of the Felt Club XL events since I heard about the last Christmas event in December. Looking forward to seeing Poketo's latest and greatest and checking out Whodini's newest goods.
Tommorrow's event will be DJ'ed by Dirty Robot and Lance Rock. This year's event will host over 70 crafters from Southern California and beyond. The vendors will be showing their latest D.I.Y. goods, happy shopping music will play in the background and crafts classes will be held throughout the day. It's bound to be a good time and it always feels good to support the indie craft community.

Love love love Milk on Beverly. Went there on an after dinner stroll with Mochi last night. When I first saw the spot opening a few months back I thought it was going to be a boutique but it was a pleasant surprise to see a modern day ice cream parlor in it's place. Owner Bret Thompson is former exec chef @ Patina (yum!). He's brought his childhood favs alive at Milk serving ice cream, splits, sundaes, and a very interesting selection of sandwiches and salads. We went for the banana split, but I will definitely be back to taste some of the other goodies there. Seems like they could really tap into to something in marketing their branded goods with that cute logo.

Check out this cool post-it like paper pad that looks like an onion...and feels like an onion!
"The Kokuyo Design award winners were announced a week ago, and this awesome post-it pad won the grand prix. The theme was "leaves." Each layer looks slightly different from the one before it, and the translucency and texture make it really feel like you are peeling off thinly cut layers of the onion."

I'm loving the Mociun Fall 2006 line. I have no idea where I can find it, but the collection looks amazing! I'll keep an eye out for it.
