Check out this 10k gold skull pendant from Dogeared, available on Moondance Jewelry. A cute take on the skull design!
One very exquisite cluster ring (thanks Jess!). This is the 18K gold and mixed semi-precious and diamond "Aruba" ring from designer Marco Bicego. Its runs for $1200+! Out of reach, but very amazing...
If I had the extra $500.....I'd go out and find me some Alex & Chloe jewelry...possibly the 14K gold Antler Charm Necklace...or one of the other unique pieces from their new Black Diamonds collection.
My friend turned me onto jewelry designer Dominique Cohen. She's lucky enough to own some of her jewelry, and I am a big fan. I love this look with the varying large link gold bracelet and the coin ring. Her looks are simple, classic and stunning. Dominique Cohen works in 18K rose and yellow gold and fine gemstones.
"Dominique gets her inspiration from Audrey Hepburn; as she had the elegance and chic tast that she wants to portray. She also looks to artists and art from the late 1800's and early 1900's such as Tiffany and Lalique for inspiration..."
Her line can be found at the flagship LA store, the NY store or Neiman Marcus. You can also find the Dominique Cohen for Target line at Target stores.
...that's the name of Digby & Iona's newest line of Vermeil, Gun Metal and Sterling Silver jewelry with "a more acidic take on the popular deer-in-the-woods motif". This is one of my favorites from the line, the 14 point stag ring. Digby & Iona is the creation of NY based designer Aaron Ruff. Ruff originally wanted to be an archaeologist, but ended up at Parsons studying furniture design. Now he is applying his natural talents in his Cobble Hill apartment where he approaches jewelry making with an open mind.
“I didn't go to school for jewelry and don't really have a formal education on it, so it's been a lot of trial and error,” he says. ”Every time I find a new resource like a gold plater or a really good engraver, a whole new set of ideas opens up.”
Check out the Digby & Iona website for more information.
Add Berlin's Sabrina Dehoff to your list of funky favorites. Sabrina's lines of fantastical jewelry are quirky and have a great sense of humor. She started her company in 2005 and now has four collections: The Little Dreamers, The Little Helpers, Eratic Blocks and her newest line Epigenetics vs. Atomists. The latest line includes dangling gold wrapped pom-poms, gold plated charms and plastic animal charms with gold detail. Sounds a little funky, that's why I like it. The designs are positively ironic and unique. This piece is from the Eratic Blocks/Inhabitants of the Moon collection.
Check out the Sabrina Dehoff site.
Find her jewelry on Creatures of Comfort.

's line of oversized wood and stone rings has captivated me. Hand-carved exotic woods come together with minerals and stones - selected for their healing properties - to finish off these unique pieces which are truly small pieces of art.
This piece is made of Ebony and Vanadinite and has the properties to "clear confusion and increase sensitivity to life." Could this make is worth the $2,500-5,000 price tag?
Local boutiques that carry the line:
Kaviar & Kind: 8533 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA
Luxehaus: 1410 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA
So just learned that I love Princess Tina designs, espcially this adorable cloud necklace. Designer Beci Orpin creates whimsical, fun pieces on a more sophisticated level. Selling hand-made handkerchiefs at an exhibition in Sydney a few years ago for fun, Orpin's recreational venture turned into Princess Tina, eight collections of candy-colored t-shirts, tote bags and accessories.
Her designs are available at Giant robot and Fred Flare.
I also love this adorable
swallow tote bag.
Mamacita was one of the jewelry vendors that we ran accross at the Abbot Kinney street festival on Sunday.
My favorite was this gold horn pendant a long lightweight gold chain. It's not on her site, but it was so great I wish I could show a pic of it. It was $35. I passed on it that day but I've been thinking of it since which might be a sign!
(Her cluster rings were cute as well. You can find those on the site.)
