Abbot Kinney
Looking forward to our 3rd annual trip down to the Abbot Kinney festival with the Diaz family next weekend.
Abbot Kinney Blvd in venice closes off traffic from Main St. to Venice Blvd to host 2 stages of live music, dancersand performance artists, 3 food areas, a Spirit Garden, Art Pavilion and over 300 vendors featuring original, handcrafted goods. Festival is Sept. 24 from 10am to 6pm.
It's s a great time. Its casual and mello. There aren't too many people, it's pretty well organized and you don't have to pay $20 for parking and admission (nothing liek Sunset Junction). It's all free. Granted, free parking may require some walking, but it's not bad.
This is where we first got introduced to Spicy Brown. The last 2 years Kim and I have walked away with our new Spicy Brown totes, lets see if we're up for it again this year.
Spicy Brown has struck it as the coolest vendor down there, in my opinion. There was another vendor Bungalow 360 who sold some cool handmade bags. I think there is a lot of room for growth for this festival and their vendors. Maybe, we'll get mangowishes started down there next year!
